Giselle Hillyer, violin master class and recital
Giselle Hillyer is a violinist and violist based in Moscow, Idaho, and a faculty member at the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. She has appeared as a soloist and recitalist throughout the United States and abroad, with recent performances at the University of Idaho, recordings at Washington State University, and solos with the Coeur d’Alene and Washington-Idaho Symphonies. In March 2026, she will return as soloist with the Washington-Idaho Symphony to perform Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1. An active orchestral musician, Dr. Hillyer is co-concertmaster of the Washington-Idaho Symphony and has performed with ensembles including the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Minnesota Opera Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. She holds a doctorate from the University of Kansas, graduate degrees from the New England Conservatory, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Adelaide, and is a certified Suzuki teacher whose students are frequent competition and scholarship winners.
