What you should know about Tuition

Conservatory Track

This semester-based, instrument-specific, immersive program was designed to elevate your students experience with performing arts education at Music Conservatory of Sandpoint. The Conservatory Track incorporates private lessons, ensemble classes, music theory, recitals, adjudication, master classes and studio classes for a fixed rate. Students on the Conservatory Track may choose to join multiple ensemble classes at no additional charge. Conservatory Track students are not subject to a registration fee. Tuition for students signing up for the Conservatory Track will depend on the length of the private lesson and the primary instrument. Students 9 years of age and older are encouraged to take advantage of the Conservatory Track.

Students who wish to study more than one instrument can add private lessons with A La Carte (see below). Note that students on the Conservatory Track do not pay the $55 registration fee for additional private lessons on their primary or non-primary instrument.

A La Carte

The Music Conservatory of Sandpoint tuition for private lessons vary with the length of the lesson. A semester $55 registration fee is due at enrollment.

16 Private LESSONS

Tuition:

  • 30 minute lessons are $640 per semester

  • 45 minute lessons are $800 per semester

  • 60 minute lessons are $960 per semester

Because of the outstanding support from individuals, community sponsors, corporate sponsors, grants and foundation support, students can access excellent education and programs with top tier instructors.

Arts Access Scholarships (formerly Tuition Assistance)

The Music Conservatory of Sandpoint strives to assist all students in the pursuit of musical excellence by working with families to explore alternatives to common cost limitations. We encourage young learners to first participate in our affordable after-school enrichment programs, and recommend eligible private students to apply for tuition assistance.

Eligibility
At this time, MCS is able to consider applicants ages 6-18 years of age. High school graduates are not eligible.

Awards
Due to fund limitations, private lesson assistance generally does not cover 100% of tuition for any student. A typical award may range from 20-40% of semester fees. Award amounts also take into consideration the age and ability of the student. For example, students under the age of 13 are generally provided lessons in 30 minute increments.
