Conservatory Concert: Rachel Taylor Geier

Rachel Taylor Geier’s program is arranged like books on a musical shelf. Bookends: Watercolor Dreams to Vibrant Fantasies is inspired by the juxtaposition of pieces ranging from dreamy impressionist offerings by Claude Debussy to vibrant and virtuosic French works. Pieces between the bookends feature a triplet note structure, which, in essence, is also a miniature note-based bookend.

Dr. Taylor Geier’s musical journey is also a bookend. Beginning her flute studies in Sandpoint, Dr. Geier went on to receive degrees in Flute Performance from DePauw University, San Francisco State University, and a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She now returns to Sandpoint, to complete the bookend, as a guest artist for the Northern Idaho Flute Festival as well as for the MCS premier Conservatory Concert for Fall 2023. Tickets available online now or at the door the night of the concert. Adult: $30, Student $15.
