She lived in Burlington, Vermont from 2002-2015 where she taught piano students of all levels and abilities. She performed regularly for the Cathedral Arts Series in Burlington, Vermont and served as concert coordinator from 2014-2015. He earned his DMA from the University of Washington under the direction of Robin McCabe. His dissertation, entitled Ricardo Viñes and Les Apaches, explored the life and talents of one of the 20th century’s most enigmatic performers. He continues to perform Viñes-related solo- and duo-piano repertoire across the United States. Dr. Goodrich was national finalist in the Young Artists division of the Music Teachers National Association and Young Keyboard Artist Association competitions. He has appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Syracuse Symphony, University of Washington Symphony, Victoria Festival Orchestra, and Willamette Valley Symphony. An active chamber music and theatrical performer, Dr. Goodrich has enjoyed long associations with acclaimed performing groups such as Pacific Northwest Ballet, Northwest Boychoir, 5th Avenue Theatre, and Lucia Neare’s Theatrical Wonders (Seattle), and Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland, OR). She began piano lessons at age 3 with her mother as her teacher. Marj studied violin for 5 years, has participated in choral groups, and went on to study classical pipe organ. Marj worked as Church Organist for many years. She studied Carillon in graduate school and passed the professional exam in 1969. Marj also enjoys arranging and composing music. Her extensive education and teaching experience is an enormous asset to the Conservatory. Marj earned a BA degree in Music and French, and a Master’s in Music Theory and Composition. Marj was an elementary school classroom teacher for 33 years and taught music for entire grade levels and also for the entire school before Music Specialists were hired. Mrs. Reiner attended the University of Southern California and San Francisco State where she received her Bachelor of Music in Piano. She later received a Masters of Arts in piano performance from Sacramento State. Mrs. Reiner has always loved teaching and had her first job as a teacher when she was only 14. Mrs. Reiner also plays the cello, conducts a woman’s choir and has performed as a vocal soloist in many performances throughout the Pacific Northwest. After 3 years, having developed solid basics in piano, she started taking flute lessons. Flute became her main instrument and she continued piano education alongside flute. She graduated with a piano diploma in high school and later with a piano diploma from the Academy of Music in Cracow. She taught private and group piano lessons to students of all ages and backgrounds for many years. Her students have performed and competed locally and many have continued piano studies at the collegiate level. Now, Ms. White is quite excited to join MCS as a piano teacher to guide her students as they learn and explore piano techniques and fantastic repertoire. She has always been amazed with the dedication and aspirations of her students and their drive to achieve excellence. Heather has worked with Mr. Mark Salman, Dr. Duane Hulbert, and Dr. Tanya Stambuk. violinist who has studied, performed and taught in the North Idaho region. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho, where he also earned a degree in philosophy. Keegan has performed as a member of a number of ensembles and orchestras, including the Coeur d’Alene Symphony Orchestra, The Festival at Sandpoint Community Orchestra, The Pend Oreille Orchestra and Chorale, and the University of Idaho Symphony Orchestra, where he served as concertmaster; his ensemble work includes performance with the Festival at Sandpoint Outreach Orchestra, the North Idaho College Chamber Ensemble, and the University of Idaho String Quartet. Trained in classical guitar at Western Washington University under David Feingold, Rory earned his Bachelor’s in Classical Guitar Performance and a Master’s in Music History and Literature, focusing on The Beatles. He further earned a musicology doctorate from Florida State University, with a dissertation on early nineteenth-century opera. With a professional background in teaching guitar and ukulele, Rory has also showcased his versatility through performances in ensembles, including collegium musicum, various choirs, contemporary bands, jazz, and musical theater, playing instruments such as the guitar, lute, rackett, recorders, and viola da gamba. His teaching philosophy centers around adapting to diverse learning styles and skill-based learning, reflecting his focus on understanding music from many different perspectives. She studied cello for 4 years with one of Pablo Casals’ students, and was accepted in Northwestern University’s School of Music at in Evanston, Ill, where she studied music performance and played in the Northwestern University Symphony for one year. She then expanded her studies to include educational media, graduating Northwestern University with a BS in Communications. She co-founded the Amazingrace Collective, and for three years helped them produce small and large venue musical performances with local and nationally acclaimed musical groups on and off campus at Northwestern. She received her Master of Arts in Education at the University of Minnesota, studied cello with the assoc/principal cellist of Minneapolis Symphony for 3 years, performed with the Minnesota Civic Orchestra, then the St. Cloud community Orchestra. She began her doctoral studies in Educational Psychology at Indiana University, where she completed 45 credits. Sylvia was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania and began her formal music training in Europe when she was 6 years old. She began violin lessons at age 7 and continued intensive studies in violin and music theory. Sylvia earned admission at the National Music College “George Enescu” in Bucharest, Romania, where she graduated with the highest honors. After passing a demanding admission competition, Sylvia earned admission to the most prestigious music institution in Romania: the National Music University in Bucharest, Romania. Sylvia has performed extensively across the country, and in Canada and Romania, including numerous solos, duets, trios, quartets, ensembles, orchestras, and choirs. She moved to Idaho in 2010. Her first instrument was piano. At the age of 12 she started taking flute lessons and that became her main focus. Gosia studied with many great flutists such as Peter Lukas Graf, Janos Balint, Łukasz Długosz, Wil Offermans. Her main flute teachers include Cezary Traczewski in Karol Szymanowski Music High School in Wrocław and later Prof. Kazimierz Moszyński and Dr Wiesław Suruło at the Krzysztof Penderecki Music Academy in Kraków where she graduated with a Master's degree in flute performance. Gosia is Head of Flute Department and teaches beginner piano and Early Childhood music classes at Music Conservatory of Sandpoint. He is a well versed instructor and specialist on many of the woodwind instruments, including the saxophone, flute and clarinet. Aside from teaching, Mr. Zwang actively performs with orchestras, as a solo artist, and has a rich history with recording studios and National Artists. She also teaches guitar, orchestra percussion and trap set/drum kit. She teaches children and adults of all ages; in large groups or one-on-one private lessons. Ali has deep musical roots, and began her training at the young age of 4, singing in the family band. After learning piano, flute, tenor sax, bass guitar and guitar, Ali found her true passion in West African style drumming, which lead to drum kit and other percussion. She has been to Guinea, West Africa three times to study traditional drumming of the Mandingue ethnic group. Ali has also brought drum masters, from the tradition, to the United States, to collaboratively host international workshops. These workshops were part of her work as Assistant Director of Tam Tam Mandingue, an international school of West African drumming. Her first instrument was piano. At the age of 12 she started taking flute lessons and that became her main focus. During her musical education she participated in many competitions and masterclasses around the world. Gosia studied with many great flutists such as Peter Lukas Graf, Janos Balint, Łukasz Długosz, Wil Offermans. Her main flute teachers include Cezary Traczewski in Karol Szymanowski Music High School in Wrocław and later Prof. Kazimierz Moszyński and Dr Wiesław Suruło at the Krzysztof Penderecki Music Academy in Kraków where she graduated with a Master's degree in flute performance. Gosia is Head of Flute Department and teaches beginner piano and Early Childhood music classes at Music Conservatory of Sandpoint. She also teaches guitar, orchestra percussion and trap set/drum kit. She teaches children and adults of all ages; in large groups or one-on-one private lessons. Ali has deep musical roots, and began her training at the young age of 4, singing in the family band. After learning piano, flute, tenor sax, bass guitar and guitar, Ali found her true passion in West African style drumming, which lead to drum kit and other percussion. She has been to Guinea, West Africa three times to study traditional drumming of the Mandingue ethnic group. Ali has also brought drum masters, from the tradition, to the United States, to collaboratively host international workshops. Originally from the Seattle area, he moved to the Sandpoint area in 1993. In addition to maintaining a busy performing schedule, he has been giving private guitar lessons, from beginner to advanced, both at home and at Boulder Creek and Northwest Academies for nearly 20 years and now joins the Conservatory in our Contemporary Music Department. After a forty-year career as a touring and studio musician on multiple instruments, he returned to his hometown of Sandpoint and has continued to perform with regional musicians on a regular basis. He is a well versed instructor and specialist on many of the woodwind instruments, including the saxophone, flute and clarinet. Aside from teaching, Mr. Zwang actively performs with orchestras, as a solo artist, and has a rich history with recording studios and National Artists.
